Sunny San Diego

Adam spent the past couple of days in San Diego, in search of the perfect place for us to call home. After several days of calling many realtors and landlords, driving through good and bad neighborhoods, and patiently trying to remember details of each place as he updated me over the phone, he successfully found us what seems to be a great place. Way to go, Adam!

Here he is taking a much deserved break in Torrey Pines:

We're still finalizing things with the lease and security deposit, but are very excited about the new place. It's similar in size to our current house in Florida and has plenty of space for both a nursery and a play room (plus a guest room!). The community isn't far from my job and has some great neighborhood features like a pool. Plus, we're a 2 minute walk from a grocery store.

We have a lot more craziness to come but this was a huge task to check off of our to-do list. Also, a huge thanks to Adam's buddy Mike who flew to San Diego to help with our house hunt.

34 weeks

A few days late on this post but I'm getting pretty huge! I should have Adam take a picture of my cankles so that you can all get the full effect. Florida weather is great except when it's 80+ degrees every day of your pregnancy. We're seeing the doctor every other week now and everything looks good with both me and baby.

Adam travels to San Diego tomorrow to find us a place to live...hopefully our new place has plenty of room for guests to visit us!

Baby Shower

Yesterday, we had our baby shower at our house...just a small gathering of our local Florida friends/coworkers. And instead of "guess the size of my giant belly" or other silly games, we provided lots of beer and wine. So basically a happy hour with a baby theme :) We didn't take very many pictures but here are the few that we have:

There were many family and friends that we wish could have been here, but hey, it's just a baby shower. And most of you were very busy digging out from under 2+ feet of snow!

An Ultrasound Journey

We had an ultrasound taken today so I thought I'd show each of the pictures that we have...

Our little guy saying hello at 12 weeks:

And now at 32 weeks...instead of a profile shot, this is looking straight on at his face. You can see his nose and mouth, and he has both hands almost in front of his face.

The ultrasound tech was able to pick out hair on his head and also confirm that he is, in fact, still going to be a boy :)

Only 8 more weeks to go!

Between our upcoming move and preparing for Baby Hall, we've been pretty busy lately. In the past week or so, we've attended a childbirth class and a breastfeeding class at the hospital...a wealth of knowledge! And we're fortunate to be planning on delivering at Adam's hospital, which means he knows his way around it, he knows a bunch of the doctors, and he knows which food at the cafeteria to avoid. Tonight, we have infant/child CPR that should be just a refresher for Adam and informative for me. It might also be pretty amusing to watch me bend over a 'victim' in my current larger state.

I've been feeling pretty good lately, just a bit more tired. We've been enjoying some walks at the beach since my running days are now behind me (and we're running out of Florida beach days!). Gizmo seems a bit irritated that I no longer have a lap for him to cuddle on...I guess Adam's is just not a suitable alternative.

Our house is on the market and we continue to have showings. On the positive side, our house has never been cleaner/neater! Adam will be heading out to San Diego later this month to secure us a rental place...I'll be 34 weeks pregnant by then and so I'm skipping the trip.
