Springtime in Cali

Oops! It's been over a month since my last post. As usual, we've been pretty busy.

Dunkin seems to be full grown at this point, such a fluffy kitty. He joined our family over the July 4th holiday last year and it's hard to believe its been an entire year already. He's turned out to be a perfect cat for our family: doesn't destroy anything and is very tolerant of Bradley plus lots of snuggles with Adam and I.
 Best buds...most of the time
Picked Bradley up from school one day and realized his pants were not only inside-out but also on backwards. Haha I blame Adam for this one since he gets Bradley dressed in the morning

 Watching the rain...

Enjoying his friend Blair's 3rd birthday party at a park in La Jolla

His 2 best friends from school: Arjun and Leah

He wanted a jack-o-lantern painted on his face...weird kid

Last gymnastics class with Coach Becca, who we loved. She's heading off to college so now he'll have Coach MaryBeth. Thankful that Bradley has no issues with switching to new teachers like some of his friends.
 Brew Day with Daddy!
Fell asleep while playing Call of Duty, I mean....watching his movie
Dunkin is always in a laundry basket
Loves driving through the grocery store
He's a funny guy
Watching the commotion from a safe spot

Our silly kid skips over his chicken fingers and chows down on the watermelon, honey dew and cantalope. Love it!
Bradley has made huge progress in the past 2 months on learning his letters. He went from just being able to sing the alphabet song to now recognizing every letter, knowing their sounds as well as multiple words that start with each letter. Pretty amazing.
We had an unexpected event this month: Adam had his gall bladder removed. He went to the ER with terrible pain and they told him it was gall stones and that he needed to have it removed at some point soon. A week later, he was back in the ER and they said it needed to come out that day. His surgery ended up getting bumped from Friday night to Saturday morning so a bit of craziness to take care of Adam as well as Bradley but we all made it through. Surgery went great and Adam felt drastically better after just a few days.
Getting one more snuggle before Adam headed to the OR
Snacking in the OR waiting room...
 ...and watching his shows...
 ...and playing in the cafeteria
While Adam was recovering at home, we headed to the Zoo to meet up with friend Tim and his family who were visiting from LA for the weekend
Hundreds of amazing animals at the San Diego Zoo and the kids' favorite was the random duck with her ducklings :)

 Playing in a helicopter
While we were at the zoo, Adam had Nurse Dunkin watching over him
Trying to give Adam more quiet days at home, I took my storm trooper on a lot of errands
Last weekend, we had a little staycation in downtown San Diego. I was running a half marathon (13.1 miles) Sunday morning so we stayed in a hotel room downtown for the weekend. Bradley loved that he could see a pool and trains from our room's window

Picking up my bib at the Expo. This is the map of both the marathon and half marathon
Showing off his new swimming skills in the pool. So thankful it was heated! Especially since Adam can't get in the pool until his surgery incisions heal all the way, which meant I was on the hook to be in the pool with Bradley the whole time.
Ice cream for lunch?? Only on vacation!
We also went to a Padres game. Bradley got his first baseball hat and even got to run the bases at the Park in the Park (little baseball field next to the big one)

Sunday morning was my race. I took a shuttle to the start line while the boys slept in at the hotel. There were over 30,000 people at this race! This is just a few of the lines for the port-o-potties at the start of the race. There were probably 30+ lines all this long. I stood in line for almost an hour, boo
Success! Overcast skies and temps in the 60's is about as good as it gets for running in San Diego. I had a lot of fun during the race and my training prepared me perfectly.

After getting cleaned up after the race, we road the train for awhile because, duh, Bradley loves trains
Dunkin was thrilled when we returned. I think this was his way of telling us we should take him along next time (hiding in Adam's duffle bag)
 Ready to play some baseball!
 Bedtime is soooo fun
 Fun day at the playground

3 more weeks until our next big adventure: heading to the Northeast to cover 8 states in 15 days!
