Great Northeast Vacation 2016 - Week 1

We recently went on a 2 week adventure to the East Coast, visiting 8 states and many family and friends!

Our trip started very early at the San Diego airport. With a nonstop flight to Baltimore, Bradley was mildly annoyed that he'd only get to ride on one airplane and not two like we usually do. While he had a little trouble sitting still for the long flight (5 hours), he overall did pretty amazing for all the traveling.

BWI is definitely not efficient when it comes to handling checked bags. Took almost an hour to get our suitcases.
After arriving, we made the short drive to see friends Matt and Liz in Maryland. The next morning, we made another short drive to Virginia to see my longtime friends Laura and Heather, and their families. After breakfast, we headed to an amazing playground.

Back to Matt and Liz's house, we had a lovely reunion with friends from grad school at Yale. Bradley's favorite part was definitely playing with Cole (and his toys).

Matt and his newest little buddy
So much fun catching fireflies. Interestingly, I haven't seen a single firefly in San Diego.

Chilling in the car during our drive to my parents' house in PA

A walk with Grandpa to see the cows

 Fun with cousins!

Happy July 4th! Thanks to my dad for an amazing fireworks display

Naps are hard to come by on vacation
A little rain didn't deter the badminton

 Feeding the fish
A family outing to Penn's Cave, where you can ride a boat through the underground caves

Pictures certainly don't show how cool the rock formations were.

They also had a maze that Bradley, cousin Landon and I ran through.

Silly guy has so much fun playing with the balls

 Finally a sunny day!
Brave Bradley jumping off the diving board!

Visiting Great Grandma on our way through PA

After leaving my parents' house, we stayed at a hotel close to the PA/NY border. Bradley made sure to show his Padres pride everywhere we went
Next, we drove through NY, CT, MA and then NH where we stayed with Adam's college friend Brendan for a day. Bradley was fast friends with his 2 kids.

Wearing an apron, ready to make breakfast
3 little ducklings at the grocery store
 Lots of trampoline fun

 So fun!
And my friend Jude joined us with her daughter. So happy to see so many good friends!

Next, we headed to Maine!
