Adam and I got a personal tour of the USS George Washington aircraft carrier from our Navy friend Jim (while Bradley played with a babysitter). We've toured the USS Midway a few times but this was our first time being on an active carrier. Very interesting!
Driving up to it on base
View of the USS Ronald Reagan from the GW
View from the captain's chair
Cafeteria for the important officers
View of downtown San Diego from the flight deck
Bradley's new alligator sandals--they even light up!
All-out tantrum on the floor...it's not all unicorns and butterflies over here
Last weekend, Adam went to Boston/Rhode Island for 5 days to serve as a groomsman in his friend Erik's wedding. Bradley and I stayed busy at home during a heat wave. Here he's smiling for a picture to send to daddy after he left.
Ready for bed
Playing in the laundry hamper with Dunkin...
These guys are too silly!
End of summer party at daycare--included ice cream, face painting, more treats and games
Washing his hands with his best buddy Arjun after eating rice krispy treats
Waiting for the puppet show to begin
Sitting with his other best friend Leah
Playing with a little backpack
Playdough fun since it was really hot outside
Waited until after 5pm to go to the playground and it was still 98 degrees! Not surprisingly, we basically had the place to ourselves
Obsessed with playing on the steps. Here he's drinking his milk while sitting in the laundry basket on the steps :)
While daddy was away, he had his first kids meal from Burger King. Two bites of cheeseburger and he was all done, which is probably a good thing.
During his end of summer party at daycare, we bid on some paintings done by each class as a fundraiser. We ended up winning this one! Bradley is very excited about it and carries it around the house. Our new big TV! Now Bradley can watch BIG MICKEY! (as he calls it now). We wanted to rearrange our living room and it required a bigger TV. Very excited for football season to start!
More playing on the stairs--this time with his bean bag toss game
Last time sitting in his carseat rear-facing before we "turned his seat around". Current safety guidelines strongly recommend keeping kids rear-facing until they turn 2. We made it almost until 2.5 yrs old so pretty good. We would have waited longer but it was getting harder to put him in without smashing his head on the car. He's pretty excited to see out the front window now
Yesterday, both Adam and I had off for Labor Day weekend and daycare was open so we took advantage of a whole day to do fun kid-free things. First up, golfing at a local par 3. This was my first time in probably 3.5-4 years and I actually did pretty good.
The course was irresponsibly green--c'mon people, we're in a serious drought!
After some lunch, we headed to a few local breweries to try a bunch of beers.
A trip to Ikea means lots of fun things for Bradley to play with.
We're driving to Anaheim tomorrow to spend Sun-Wed at Disneyland. Bradley is ridiculously excited to see Mickey and the gang. Stay tuned!
