Many of the sights we saw in Maui were places that Adam and I visited during our honeymoon, many moons ago. It was fun to share them with Tim and Bradley.
Our goal on the drive to Hana was to see many waterfalls. And not get too carsick. The road is super windy since it follows the coastline and you can only go 10-15 mph, with over 20 one-lane bridges and many blind curves (plus very steep dropoffs right next to the road). It takes about half a day to get to Hana, including several waterfall stops along the way.

Near Hana, we stopped at Waianapanapa State Park. Bradley was bravely exploring some lava tubes (caves made from old lava).
Black Sand Beach. The sand is black from a lava flow many many years ago. Very pretty but the sand is more rocks than sand. And the water was super rough.
Short hike at the State Park
Rare view inland
Red Sand Beach. The color comes from the iron found in the surrounding cinder. A beautiful beach but not very accessible.
All of us were tired after a long day driving to all the waterfalls
Wait, one more lava tube!
Looks like Jurassic Park
Wrapping up the day with a trip to Maui Brewing Company
